Official Directory, Panama Chamber of Tourism, Gastronomy and Tourism is the name of the directory of restaurants, bars and hotels that will be soon distributed in the country.
The guide, which will be published in Spanish and English, is a project that is part of a sequence of directories born in El Salvador and implemented in countries like Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and now, Panama.

Ernesto Cuéllar Matamoros, Director in Nicaragua for Graficom, explained that it represents a group of Salvadorean firms engaged in various fields, including entertainment and communications, which produce television programs, as well as the Graficom editorial that has made alliances with the Chambers of Tourism of Central America.

This editorial is producing gastronomic and tourism directories for the Chambers of Tourism of Central America, which include bars, restaurants and hotels as well as tourist information for each of the markets that may be of interest not only in the regional area, but in the United States and Europe.

In the case of Panama they have a strategic alliance with the Tourism Association of Panama (Camtur) and its role is to market for them the gastronomic and touristic directory which includes restaurants, bars, hotels and tourist information for the tourist market.

Among the topics that will be included in the guide are the province of Bocas del Toro, the Archipelago of Las Perlas and the city of Panama. The idea is that people know what they can do and where to go when they are in the country.

Currently, the product is in the period of marketing, the next step will be the production and printing of the guide.
So far, they have met with the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP) which has indicated its support.

The group also hopes to distribute the guide at the Tocumen International Airport, so that visitors can take a copy.

Content and distribution

Cuéllar Matamoros said that about 100 to 150 restaurants are included in these type of guides.

On his part, Luis Pereira, Regional Marketing Director of Graficom, commented that a section for casinos will be included, which has not been included in other guides, but it will be an added value because it is an important item for tourism in the country .

There are usually between 10,000 to 15,000 printed issues per year of these types of guides with national distribution

The guides will be distributed free on tour operators, hotels, bars, airlines, travel agencies, casinos, rental cars, food fairs, Chambers and Tourism institutions in Central America.

The contents of the guide include business location, price range, telephone numbers, schedules and specialty.

Due to a restoration, it was decided that the information in the guide will be on a website page linked to the group of the Chamber of Tourism. The idea is that anyone who does not have access to this guide can do it over the internet.
