Panama: Two More Swine Flu Deaths Reported
The H1N1 influenza, also known as swine flu, continues to claim lives in the country.

The Ministry of Health said yesterday that two more people had died from complications caused by the virus, one an infant in Ngäbe Buglé and the other a 24-year-old from the province of Chiriquí.

There have been nine deaths linked to the swine flu since July 20, when the first death was reported.

Health officials said that residents should take precautions such as frequent hand washing and covering one's nose while sneezing or coughing. They also warned against greeting others with kisses or handshakes to avoid contamination.

They also said that parents of children who show symptoms of the disease should not send them to school.
