Banking center maintains moderate growth
The banking center keeps on showing a moderate growth, consolidating the trust in its security from the national and international market , and thus, its stability and solidness, reveals an executive report from the Superintendency of Banks of Panama, corresponding to the month of November 2009.

The banking center registers total assets for US$64.7 billion, showing a growth of 2.0% if compared with the similar period in the previous year., whereas the inter monthly variation was placed in 0.95%.

Likewise, the level of liquidity keeps solid ; the liquid assets registered an increase of 4.2%, US$529 million more than the previous month. The index of legal liquidity at the end of November was placed at 69.17%.

Regarding the loan portfolio, this presents a light decrease of 0.9% compared to October 2009, sustained in a drop on the corporative loans, specifically in the corporative portfolio in the foreign private Banks.

The report reveals that the investments of the banking center show an important growth of 13.4%.
