Valuating of Gamboa and Playa Bonita requested
The Direction of Land Registry and the Comptroller General of the Republic will start evaluating the lands given in concession to Gamboa Rainforest Resort and to InterContinental Playa Bonita, to proceed to sale them, informed the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), according to a note published in daily La Prensa.

The daily points out that with the information obtained from these studies, the Goverment will be able to obtain the patrimonial value of these lands in order to sale them at market price to Miramar Development Corp., presided by Herman Bern.
Dulcidio De La Guardia, Finance vice-Minister said the decision was taken after the plans were approved.
Once the governmental valuating finishes, the company Panamericana de Avalúos will also perform an independent study of the properties Grupo Bern has in concession and will charge the State US$26, 250.
Daily La Prensa indicates that the price Bern will have to pay for the Gamboa, Playa Bonita and the Intercontinental Miramar Panama Hotel (the parking lots and the 7,500 meters in front of the project) will depend on the results of the valuating. It is also necessary to define the zonification in that area.

It is estimated that the company will have to pay, at least US$50 million for the purchase of the terrains in which Miramar hotel was built , which belong to the State, excluding the use of the bottom of the sea.
