President Martinelli enjoys high approval rating so far, survey shows
Some 43 days into his administration, President Ricardo Martinelli continues to generate positive expectations among Panamanians.
A recent Unimer survey revealed 72.7 percent of respondents believed that the work of the Alliance for Change president and his ministers will do a good job, while 15.8 percent predicted that it would be "fair." Just 6.3 percent qualified his potential as "very bad."
Martinelli's soaring approval rate is not unlike that held by former president Martín Torrijos during his first month in office, when his popularity reached 80 percent, according to a poll conducted by Dichter & Neira.
